Following round 7 played at the July club meeting, the Grand Melee League table has been updated.
Thirteen players turned up to play this month. While the LXG meeting was very crowded this month, a lot of regular players from the league were missing. In fact four of the top 8 were absent. Thirteen players meant two tables, one with seven players the other with six.
On the first table, Eddie C won for the second month in a row, and for the second month in a row he won after getting a single kill! Jeremy N managed 3 kills before falling to Eddie (Eddie won with just a single point of life remaining!), Keith D and David K each picked up a kill. Unlike the lengthy Planechase round, this game was over in 35 minutes.
Eddie moves up to first place in the table, while Jeremy’s efforts bring him into the top 8 at 6th place.
The second table lasted longer, with the gaming taking about an hour to resolve. Anthony H was the winner there, moving up to 9th spot. Mal O picked up 3 points, moving him up eleven spots to 16th! Alex Sp picked up his first point of the year too.
Coming up in August
Next month will host the top 8 cube draft. This round will start at 2.00pm, an hour earlier than normal, to allow time for drafting. So if you’re in the top 8 remember to come on time, or risk missing out on the round (if you’re late you won’t be able to play at the other tables!).
