LXG member Danny Frahm participated at the Australian Games Expo (the board games section of Cancon). in Canberra. Danny was the winner of the Settlers of Catan Tournament.
In the qualifiers Danny lost the first two matches but won the next two. Two wins was enough to qualify Danny for the semi-finals. In the semis Danny was matched up with some very tough competition including a former winner and the tournament’s number one seed. The game played for over two hours with Danny coming out with a settlement and a city for the win.
Similarly, the finals were very tough. All players were searching for bricks the whole game which slowed down building significantly. Danny managed to win by securing largest army. Then as his final move he played the Development Card “Monopoly” and ‘stole’ the longest road. Final scores were 10, 6, 5, 5. Danny finished with 2 cities, 1 settlement, 1 secret vp, largest army and longest road.
Congratulations to Danny, who wins a trip to Germany to compete overseas!
